Roof of mouth sore

Here's a question that was posted in the comments section over at treatment-for.com:

"I don't remember burning the roof of my mouth, but for the last 5 days the roof of my mouth has been really painful as if burnt. I've also got quite a few mouth ulcers and generally sore lips. It hurts to eat. I've been rinsing with Oraldine (UK brand mouthwash), but it's not easing. What could this be"

Toothpaste causes a sore tongue

I've seen lots of posts online about how a bad reaction to some toothpastes can cause a really painful tongue or a sore inflamed mouth.

Has anyone experienced this.

I'm 90% sure it happened to me with one of the well known "extra white" brands of toothpaste. Maybe this could be a common theme for many of us?

Vitamin B12 and tongue problems

What is the connection between vitamin B12 and sore mouth or sore tongue?

The textbooks seem to say that the two things are closely linked. If you get short of vitamin B12 then you can end up with a painful swollen tongue.

Has anyone experienced this?

I know that a cold sore can cause pain on the lips when it's first appearing. But what about pain inside the mouth - on the gums or inside the cheek?

Can cold sore virus do that too?

I read somewhere that sore tongue and sores at the corners of the mouth can be associated with a lack of vitamin B ?

Anyone else come accross this.

How would i find out if this applied to me?
